Graduate School Catalog
UMBC is a selective public research university in the Baltimore-Washington corridor. The university is in the top tier of research universities nationally; the Carnegie Foundation classifies UMBC as a Doctoral / Research-Extensive university.
Graduate programs at UMBC are designed to serve both professional and research-oriented students. The UMBC Graduate School offers 43 masters degree programs, 24 Ph.D. programs and 31 certificate programs in the natural and social sciences, engineering, public policy, and arts and humanities.
