This course gives students the information and practical experience to build basic leadership and communication skills through discussion, observation, and opportunities for participation in an El Sistema music organization (OrchKids). Among the topics covered are creating and managing partnerships (public schools, youth and social centers, government), addressing at-risk youth and communities, strategic planning and program assessments, marketing and public relations, governance, fundraising and fiscal management, and human resources.
