AFST 362 - Studies in Black Poetry(3.00) Examination of a theme, group of poets, or historical period in the development and evolution of black poetry. The special contribution of poetry in the development of a black ethos and a black consciousness. Poets may come from one or more of three geographic areas: Africa, the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. Special selections of black poetry from other areas may be included. Topics to be announced each semester offered.
