This course explores all aspects of the civilization of ancient Egypt: government, religion, hieroglyphs, daily life, mummification, and the afterlife. With emphasis on art and archaeology, this survey ranges from the predynastic period (5000 BCE) to the death of Cleopatra (30 BCE).
