THTR 411 - Modern Theatre: History and Practice

A study of the history, theories and practices of Western theatre from the mid 19th century stage to post-Modern performance. Emphasis is placed on active learning where students practice the interpretation of dramatic literature and theatrical performance in historical context. The course explores the major writers and artistic movements of the Modern period and their influence on post-Modern performance. Recommended Course Preparation: THTR 120 , and THTR 244  , and THTR 310   Note: Required of all theater majors.
