ANCS 320 - Gender and Women in the Classical World(3.00) What do we and can we know about the lives of women in ancient Greece and Italy, and how did women and men interact? In this course, archaeological and written evidence will be examined to reconstruct the activities, status and images of Greek, Etruscan and Roman women and place them within their historical and cultural contexts. Attention will be paid to the way both ancient and modern views about women and men influence our understanding of the past and present.
