BIOL 422L - Microscopy and Imaging Techniques(2.00) Theory and practice of the study of biological materials, using a variety of contemporary microscopic techniques. These include scanning and transmission electron microscopy and laser confocal scanning light microscopy. Specimens will be prepared for examination by each of these instruments; both group and individual projects will be pursued to develop confidence in applying the many specimen preparation procedures available and use of the appropriate instrumentation. Procedures required for production of finished micrographs are included.
