FREN 310 - Interconnections: Language(3.00) This course is an introduction to language history and use in the French-speaking world. Among the topics covered are style and register, the origins of French, dialect diversity, language attitudes, and language policy. Lectures, readings and activities will focus on a number of different Francophone societies and will emphasize connections and contrasts with North American habits and practices. Taught in French.
