THTR 434 - Patterning and Draping

This course teaches students how to make patterns for theatrical costumes. Students will learn how to manipulate fabric on a three’ dimensional form, appreciate the importance of the grain of fabric in relation to the design, develop a sense of proportion and the placement of style’lines, create basic patterns from foundation shapes, and learn the basics of fitting garments to the human form. Note: This course is repeatable for credit up to 6 credits or 2 attempts.
