GWST 344 - Transnational Femininities(3.00) This course studies femininity in a trans/national context. “Trans” suggests that we will discuss femininity as something performed by and written on many kinds of bodies, not only those assigned female at birth. “Transnational” denotes that we will situate femininity in the US, across multiple nations, and within a broad sociocultural framework. We will discuss how class, bodily comportment, sexuality, nation, ability, and religion affect feminine performance and feminine/feminist/queer politics. Recommended Course Preparation: GWST 100 or GWST 210
