Physical principles for separation, liquid/ liquid separations versus distillation, extractive distillation, absorption stripper systems, membrane separations, ultracentrifugation, electrophoresis, large-scale chromatography, molecular sieves and pressure swing adsorption, synthesis of alternative separation schemes, trade-off and optimization.
