This course examines music education principles of the Lincoln Center Institute of the Arts and Education model that engage children and adults, and provide them with hands-on opportunities to explore and understand the arts. Topics include examination of Gardner¿s theory of multiple intelligences, creation of framing questions using a variety of learning modalities, investigations of pathways for an audience so that they can connect to a work of art and discover their own relationship with the work, and explorations of multiple perspectives as the group develops a common vocabulary and understanding through repeated encounters with the art work. Workshops with artists from other disciplines allow for new musical perspectives, and practical teaching experiences are gained through,
