ARCH 380 - Hellenistic Archaeology and Art(3.00) The course will examine Hellenistic art, architecture, daily life, urbanization, trade and other connections among principalities of mainland Greece, Egypt, Asia Minor, the Near East and Rome from the late fourth to first centuries B.C.E. Together with material, culture, major intellectual and religious developments will be considered,e.g., Epicureanism, the Greeks and the Jews, the literature of Alexandria and mystery religions. Recommended Preparation One course from the following: ANCS 201 or ARCH 200 or ARCH 201 or HIST 453 .
