MATH 106 - Algebra and Elementary Functions(3.00) An introduction to the basic techniques and functions of mathematics. This course is especially recommended for those students who need to brush up due to a shaky high school preparation or for those who haven’t had a mathematics course in several years. Topics include linear equations and inequalities; quadratic equations; polynomials; and rational functions and their inverses, including the exponential and the logarithm. Note This course may be subject to a Course Materials Charge. The charge may vary by semester, depending on the course materials required. The Course Materials Initiative (CMI) was established to provide students with more affordable course materials, enhance the students’ experience on a common digital platform via Blackboard, and position UMBC to be ahead of the curve with digital content.
