MUSC 173 - Introduction to Choral Singing

This course offers an introducation to basic sight-singing skills. Students will develop an understanding of how to read choral music and they will learn rudimentary musicianship skills, including melodic notation and its application to the keyboard. Traditional hymns will be used to develop this skill. The skills developed in this course will enhance the opportunity to participate in the UMBC choral ensembles in the music department. to participate in the UMBC choral ensembles in the music department.
