EDUC 624 - Instructional Strategies for Teaching Problem-Solving in Social Studies[3] Students will apply current theory and research in developing a repertoire of instructional strategies to teach problem-solving and critical thinking in social studies. They will participate in and critique demonstration lessons; develop an instructional unit; and write a paper discussing patterns and styles in student problem-solving strategies in terms of their cognitive development, socio-economic background, gender and handicapping conditions. This course is designed for teachers and prospective teachers of grades K-12. Prerequisite: Prerequisites: EDUC 601 and consent of department.
