POLI 220 - The Constitution and American Democracy (3) This course examines the governing structures established by the Constitution with an emphasis on circumstances leading to the 1787 Constitutional Convention, the logic underlying the basic structure of the document, and how these structures affect the operation of American politics today. Students will consider the degree to which the Constitution supports modern norms of democracy. This is not a course in constitutional law. Recommended Preparation: POLI 100 .
