POLI 442 - Intergovernmental Relations (3) An examination of the American federal system, with emphasis on processes of conflict and coordination between local governments, state governments and national government. Attention is focused on the allocation of responsibilities to different levels of government and the use of intergovernmental tools (such as grants, mandates, and cooperative agreements) to implement domestic policies. Recommended Preparation: POLI 240 or junior standing.
