BIOL 275 - Microbiology(3.00) Introductory course describing the fundamental properties of micro-organisms and viruses and their relationships to other life forms. Topics include the structure and function of bacteria, mode of action of antibiotics, genetics of bacteria and the role of bacteria in disease. The structure, replication and pathology of viruses are discussed, including the response of hosts to viral infection and the fundamental concepts of the immune response.
