BIOL 302 - Molecular and General Genetics(4.00) Modern principles of heredity have been established through studies at the molecular, cellular and organismic levels. This course explores the fundamental biology of gene structure, organization, expression, and function as deduced from analyses of viral, prokaryotic, and eukaryotic systems and the gene interactions that underlie them. Fundamental genetic principles are applied to the understanding of human heredity and disease, and molecular genetic manipulations are discussed in the context of biotechnology applications.
