EDUC 433-Mathematics Processes in Early Childhood(4.00) Teacher candidates will study how young children acquire mathematical content and processes. Candidates will also learn how to support, encourage and foster mathematical thinking in young children in a 3 hour/week field experience in a primary grade as part of their Phase I internship. In order to align with the Maryland Common Core State Standards/Maryland College and Career Ready Standards, this course places a special emphasis on how to teach concepts about whole numbers, geometry, spatial relationships and measurement.
