MATH 408 - Introduction to Abstract Algebra(3.00) Topics of this course include a deeper examination of the structure of groups, including Sylow theorems and the fundamental theorem of abelian groups; a further study of rings, including modules and linear algebra over rings; polynomial and matrix rings; field theory, including Galois theory; and applications such as nonsolubility of quintic polynomials by radicals and geometric nonconstructilibity.
