MLL 324 - World Language Issues(3.00) The course examines the consequences of socio-linguistic heterogeneity in multi-cultural societies through an examination of topics such as the parameters of language variation; the relationship between indigenous, colonial and immigrant languages; language attitudes; and language planning. Students will use these concepts to work toward the resolution of language-based conflicts in a required written research project. Students may register for either MLL 230 or MLL 324. Recommended Preparation: Junior standing
