This course is an introduction to the social and educational aspects of multilingualism. It offers an overview of the broad range of sociolinguistic and political issues surrounding multilingualism, examines the language mixing behavior of multilingual speakers, and explores the use of two or more languages in popular music, advertising, and online social spaces.
