[3]Finite difference methods for elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic equations; first-order systems; the eigenvalue problems; variational formulation of elliptic problems, and the finite element method and its relation to finite difference methods. Prerequisite: Prerequisites: MATH 620, MATH 630 and familiarity with a high-level programming language or consent of instructor.
