MLL 320 - Transnational Feminist Film (3) This course uses a feminist film studies lens to analyze transnational documentary and feature films. Drawing on feminist, documentary, and postcolonial film theory, students will gain the necessary skills to critically analyze representations of gender, race, class, nationality, and sexuality in transnational film. We will examine the politics of gender in films produced in the West and the Global South and we will assess the flows between “first world” and “third world” cinematic traditions.
