ENEE 785 - Advanced Topics in Optical Networks Credits: [3]
Description: This is an inter-disciplinary course to address the issues of importance in constructing high-speed optical networks. It covers the current networks for both telecoms and datacoms. Network layers, circuit switching and packet-switching principle and technologies are described. Depending on the instructor, technologies related to the physical layer of the system, protocols and traffic and network control will be covered in more detail. Projects are required for all students.
