BIOL 445 - Signal Transduction (4)

This course will examine some of the methods by which the reception of signals from the environment leads to the changes in gene and protein activity in responding cells that constitute a biological response. Signal transduction in the context of developmental biology and neurobiology will be the main area of study. Six to eight topics will be emphasized through critical reading, analysis and presentation of original articles from primary literature. The use of genetic, molecular and biochemical techniques to address questions in the field of signal transduction will be examined. Note: This class is Writing Intensive.
