GWST 100 - Introduction to Gender and Women’s Studies (3) This course introduces students to the interdisciplinary field of gender and women’s studies, feminist scholarship, and feminist activism. We will examine the relationship between gender, power, and the production of feminist knowledge in a variety of fields, including psychology, sociology, literature, media studies and history. The course provides critical perspectives on the social construction of gender and sexuality, social inequalities based on gender and sexuality, and how those norms function interactively with categories of difference such as race, class, nation, ability and age.
