This course offers an introduction to the specific approaches of environmental history and the historical relationship between the human and nonhuman world. We will analyze changing ideas about the natural world, the history of the environmental movement, how modern societies have shaped the natural world, and how the natural world has in turn impacted history. Recommended Preparation: Lower-level Social Sciences course. (Fall/Spring)
