UNIV 301 - Introduction to the University for Transfer Students (2) The purpose of this course is to help new transfer students experience a successful transition to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and build on the knowledge, skills, and practices needed to thrive at a research university. Students will identify, understand, and take a deep dive into their academic discipline, explore and demonstrate metacognitive awareness, connect with and integrate into the campus community, and develop themselves both personally and professionally. Students in this course will learn from faculty, staff, and their peers within their academic discipline and across the larger campus community. Topics will be published in the Schedule of Classes. Recommended Preparation: ENGL 100 and a minimum of 15 transfer credits. (Fall/Spring)
