Description: An advanced course in spectroscopic methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis, with emphasis on instrumental design, construction and operation. Topics will include atomic spectroscopy, light scattering and electronic and vibrational molecular spectroscopy. The role of lasers in modem spectroscopic methods will be explored.
