CSED 553 - Introduction to Cybersecurity Credits: [3] Description: This course is part of a series of graduate level computer science application courses designed primarily for P-12 teachers working to earn the Master of Arts in Education degree with a focus on computer science education. This course introduces concepts of cyber security, its importance to every aspect of our lives. It is designed for participants who want to introduce cyber security to students as an introduction to cyber security. Participants will gain knowledge of various cyber security terminologies, technologies, protocols, threat analysis, security principles, security mechanisms, policies, forensics, incident response and methods to secure systems. Topics include the impact of cyber security, digital citizenship and cyber hygiene software security, digital footprint/reputation, internet safety, information literacy, hacking ethics, creative credit, cryptography, privacy, and security.
