CSED 559 - Physical Computing Credits: [3] Description: This course is part of a series of graduate-level computer science application courses designed primarily for P-12 teachers working to earn the Master of Arts in Education degree with a focus on computer science education. This course is designed for teachers who want to introduce physical computing as a way of understanding emerging technologies where the world around us is more and more making use of computers to do many activities that humans use to do. The physical computing that will be covered in this course will involve interactive systems that can sense and respond to the world around them bring STEM to life. The lessons will involve both plugged and unplugged lessons that can be accomplished with physical gadgets or by simulations on the computer. Examples of which are Micro:Bits, Bee Bot, Raspberry Pi, PictoBlox, Arduino, Makey Makey, Ozobot, and many others.
