HIST 483 - German History: 1789 to 1914 (3) History of the German states from the French Revolution through national unification, the Bismarckian era and the Wilhelminian era up until the outbreak of World War I. Emphasis is on the struggles between nationalism, conservatism, liberalism and social democracy in the new German empire. Includes a cultural, social and political approach. Recommended Preparation: HIST 100, HIST 110 , or HIST 111 and junior/senior status.
