PHYS 133L - Experimental Physics I for Physicists (3)

This laboratory course complements the PHYS 121-PHYS 122 lecture sequence by exploring the underlying physical phenomena through hands-on experiments. Students set up equipment, collect and analyze data, and apply statistical tools to evaluate results. Emphasis is placed on estimating uncertainties using error propagation and comparing experimental findings with theoretical predictions. In addition, students develop foundational skills in scientific communication, including clear reporting of uncertainties and effective presentation of results in written reports. Students make a final presentation of the results from an independent experiment. Note: This course is designed to meet the needs of students in the Physics, B.S. and Physics Education, B.A.
