HIST 111H - Western Civilization 1700 to the Present(3.00) A survey of Western Civilization from the Enlightenment through to the present day. This course will cover the main political, economic, cultural, and social features and developments of the West in the modern era. Major topics will include Absolutism, the Enlightenment, the political revolutions of the eighteenth century, the Industrial Revolution, imperialism, nationalism, fascism, socialism, the World Wars, the Cold War, and globalization.
