MUSC 178 - Keyboard Skills III(1.00) Development of basic keyboard skills to complement the student’s studies in music theory. Areas covered include harmonization, technique, solo performing, transposition, improvisation and functional harmony at the keyboard. Some knowledge of music theory needed. Course is designed to enable students to achieve the level of proficiency in keyboard skills required for the major. Students either may complete two consecutive semesters or test out if the instructor considers their level sufficiently advanced. This course is repeatable for a maximum of 2 credits or 2 attempts. Prerequisite: Permission of the department
