All courses submitted by a student in fulfillment of the requirements for the major must be completed with a grade of C or higher.

MLLI Applied Linguistics Option (39 credits):
9 credits:
- electives, chosen from other LING courses at the 300 or 400 level, three credits of which must be at the 400 level.
Note:
A cognate course in another discipline (e.g., MLL 413 , PHIL 455 , PSYC 316 , ENGL 490 ) or a language-specific linguistics course (e.g. FREN/GERM/SPAN/RUSS 331, 332, 438) may substitute for one of the elective LING courses with the written approval of a designated LING major advisor.
