Benefits of the ENTR Minor
Regardless of a student’s career choice, developing an entrepreneurial mindset and skill set will make them more valuable contributors on the job and in their communities. Many students will go on to start their own business in the future, and the Entrepreneurship Minor will show them how to assess the feasibility of their ideas and teach them the first steps for getting started. Involvement in the program will provide access to successful entrepreneurs in the region which will provide valuable networking and mentoring opportunities Other students will become intrapreneurs - employees working in existing companies who will learn how to look for opportunities for improvement and how to successfully implement change and innovation within their organizations. Many students are very interested in social entrepreneurship and civic agency. There is a specific track within the minor for these students to learn how to become successful agents and advocates of change in their communities and society at large.
