Recognizing that a basic understanding of history is a crucial component of a liberal arts undergraduate education rather than a luxury, the department offers a minor in history. It allows students to complement their career interests and vocational goals by studying history as an ancillary field.

Minor Requirements
- Minimum 18 credits
- Minimum grade of ‘C’ in courses applied to the minor
Required Courses (6 credits)
Complete two courses at the 100 or 200 level, including 3 credits in United States history and 3 credits in non-U.S. history.
Elective Courses (12 credits)
Complete 12 credits must be from courses numbered 200 or higher, including a minimum of 9 credits from 300- or 400-level history courses.
