Religious Studies Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Academic Departments

Offered by Religious Studies .

The Religious Studies minor gives students a broad knowledge of humanity’s rich religious heritage and the way that religion has impacted history, politics, culture, and identity across time and space. The minor is interdisciplinary in nature, allowing students to take courses drawn from multiple different departments at UMBC and focusing on different temporal and geographic boundaries. This range of approaches makes the minor appealing to students of different interests and majors.

Students minoring in Religious Studies gain a broad understanding of the impact of religious traditions, and successful students develop a skill set that equips them to pursue careers in fields such as law, politics, diplomacy, medicine, and business.
