Quantitative Biology Minor

A number of studies have identified the need for broader interdisciplinary education of undergraduate students in sciences to prepare them for successful scientific careers. In particular, these studies call for an increased preparation of undergraduate students to be able to integrate knowledge of biology and mathematics to address modern biological and medically-oriented questions.

Minor Requirements

Minimum 36 credits or 10 courses. Biological Sciences evaluates based on courses completed rather than credits to account for variation in transfer course credits
Minimum grade of ‘C’ in courses applied to the minor and prerequisites
Students pursuing the Quantitative Biology Minor may not complete a major from Biological Sciences
Minimum 2 courses unique to the minor
Minimum 5 courses completed in residence at UMBC
