Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law Certificate

Offered by Philosophy , the Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law Certificate approaches the study of the role of the market economy in history and contemporary society through an interdisciplinary lens, focused on both normative evaluation and social-scientific explanation.

Certificate Requirements
- Minimum 18 credits
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 in courses applied to the certificate
Required PPEL Courses (6 credits)
Complete the following: Distribution Requirements (9 credits)
Complete one course in each of Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics. Philosophy
Complete one course from the following: Political Science
Complete one course from the following: Economics
Complete one course from the following: Elective (3 credits)
Complete one additional 400-level course in Philosophy, Political Science, or Economics. This elective course should be chosen in consultation with the PPEL Program Director in light of a student’s particular interests. Students may also petition the Director to count a relevant upper-division course from another department toward this requirement. |
