Acting, B.A.


All students seeking a BFA in Acting enter into the program as BA in Theatre Studies majors and enroll in the Department’s first year core courses, including studio acting classes. Students interested in the BFA in Acting program declare their intent to pursue study as a BFA in Acting major and apply for the program prior to the close of their first year of theatre study. The faculty carefully assess the student’s studio coursework as to their potential for growth and success in continued intensive BFA training before inviting them into the BFA in Acting program. BFA in Acting majors must fulfill required studio/performance courses with a grade of “B” or better. Other non-performance courses submitted by a student in fulfillment of the BFA in Acting major requirement must be completed with a grade of “C” or better.

Final four semesters


As part of their final four semesters, all students in the BFA in Acting program must complete four semesters of production or performance coursework. These may be fulfilled with any of the following:
