EDUC 441 - Children’s Literature and Other Materials for Early Literacy (3) This course explores the critical analysis and selection of a variety of genres of children’s literature and other media for children in diverse educational settings. It emphasizes the skills and dispositions needed to share literature with culturally and linguistically diverse groups of children and explores prevalent myths and stereotypes in society that are often reflected in children’s and young adult literature. Issues pertaining to family engagement and community resources to support the goals of the literacy program are explored.
