ANTH 480 - Anthropological Research: Capstone (4) This capstone course provides students with an intensive, hands-on experience applying anthropological theories and methods to investigate a research topic. The course explores a range of research methods found within anthropology, including participant observation and informal and formal interviewing, followed by qualitative data analysis approaches. Over the semester students develop and implement a research project utilizing these techniques. The course also examines issues of representation. Students are expected to present their findings in a final capstone paper. Recommended Preparation: ANTH 400 (Spring)
Grading: Graded Course ID: 52232 Consent: No Special Consent Required Components: Research, Seminar Prerequisite: ANTH 211 and SOCY 300 with a grade of ‘C’ or better. Six additional credits of upper-level ANTH courses with a grade of ‘C’ or better.
