HIST 323 - African American Women’s History (3) This course traces the history of African-American women in the United States, beginning with their ancestors’ history in pre-colonial Africa and U.S. slavery to the present. Topics covered include work; family roles; activism; achievements; and bouts with racism, sexism and poverty. Recommended Preparation: Any 100-level Social Science course or 200-level Literature course or junior/senior standing or permission of instructor.
