HIST 374 - European Women’s History 1200-1750 (3) An examination of the status and roles of women in European society throughout the Middle Ages and Early Modern period. Through a mixture of secondary readings, primary sources, and film, this course investigates ideas about women and gender as well as the actions and ideas of women in the past. Topics include women and religion, women and work, women’s household and familial roles, women and sexuality, women and politics, and women’s education and writings. Recommended Preparation: Any 100-level social science course or junior/senior status.
