MAED 535 - Explorations in Discrete Mathematics and Calculus Credits: [3] Description: This course is designed for elementary and middle school teachers to explore discrete mathematics and calculus concepts. Topics in discrete mathematics include logic, set theory, combinatorics and graph theory. Calculus topics will include introductions to limits, derivatives and integrals. Applications of discrete mathematics and calculus will be explored. Students will investigate national mathematics standards at the elementary and middle school level to make connections between the mathematics they teach and the discrete mathematics and calculus topics of this course.
